Snorri Ásmundsson

Snorri Ásmundsson is an artist that has often tried to have direct influence on the society through his public happenings. In the last few years he has disturbed peoples existence through his large and interesting happenings which more often then not, has addressed towards the most private issues of the public like; politics, sex and religion. Candidacy for the city mayor, candidacy for presidency, nominees for honorary citizenship and the sale of letters of indulgence, to name a few.
He is studying the response of the environment, i.e. the response of people when it comes to turning recognized values upside down and when, an otherwise powerless individual takes the power usually distributed by organized rules. However the public reacts to these schemes, he is first and foremost challenging the society and it’s values. He seeks targets which call for brisk response and watches at the same time the limits of the neighbor and probably his own.
