Opening: The Advent Calendar
On Desember 1st 2024 at 15:00 the Advent Calendar in the Living art Museum will open. The exhibition includes 24 sculptures, a christmas star and an advent wreath. As is customary of advent calendars, one work will be revealed each day, a window to the world of an artist from the diverse art scene of Iceland. In the spirit of christmas, a time of light and peace and of bringing together loved ones, the calendar will host various events over the exhibition period. Every Sunday there will be a candle lighting ceremony of the advent wreath along with the unveiling of an artwork. On the second Sunday of the advent the 8th of December at 14.00 the arts and crafts group Hnökkrarnir invite you to join them for a cosy time of arts and crafts. you are incouraged to bring with you your own crafts or clothing that need a spruce up. Assistance with crafts will be provided as well as tours of the exhibtion. Dagatalið veit það og því verður boðið upp á ýmiskonar viðburði á sýningartímanum.
Gingerbread is another crucial part of the holiday season. December 14th at 17:00 you are invited to an evening of artworks, gingerbread decorations and gin cocktails. At 19:00 the best gingerbread decorator will be announced victorious.
The last chance to see the works will be on the 28th of December 2024. This will be the only day you can see all the works unveiled!
