Marshall House at Grandi is a centerpiece for art in Reykjavík. In addition to the Living Art Museum, the building houses the artist-run exhibition space Kling & Bang, Ólafur Elíasson's Studio and the restaurant La Primavera. The house was built in 1948 as a herring factory, Faxi, which was operated in the house for over half a century. The construction of the building was largely financed with Marshall assistance of the United States after World War II, hence the name of the building. After the factory closed down, the building stood empty until it opened as a vibrant venue for arts and culture in 2017.
