The board of the Living Art Museum strongly condemns the attacks on civilians and not least children and grieve for the lives lost on both sides. We stand in unwavering solidarity with the people of Gaza and Palestine who are subject to brutal occupation and stripped of basic humanitarian aid. 

We stand for diversity and the protection of cultural history. We stand firm in the right for everyone to live and express themselves free from persecution and oppression in any form. We condemn the intentional targeting of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and the censorships of voices and institutions speaking up in the current crisis. 

We take a firm stance against hate speech in any form and join multiple voices and institutions in Iceland and internationally, condemning the current situation.

We condemn the genocide of the Palestinian people and call on the Icelandic Government to demand a permanent ceasefire and show support for people who have been forced to flee from their homes.

We encourage everyone to show support in any way they can, and advocate for human rights for all.
